Guest Speakers In June

Two guest speakers will be at the pulpit in June at Faith Church .

On Lay Speaker Sunday, which is June 17th, Dave Lehman will be bringing us the message for Fathers Day.

Dave comes from Perry County and at one time worked at The Advocate as a salesman before being promoted to Advertising Manager. Later, he had his own program on WCLT Radio from 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and will be remember by many as each day he signed off the program with these words, “Count not a day lost if in that day you have made someone smile.” His life reflects that statement. Because Dave is legally blind, his wife is responsible to get him “to and fro” so at the very end of his program he would say, “Come and get me, Patty. We’re on the road again.”

Among other interesting talents he uses is Presto the Clown and Dave the Magician, (Christian, of course.) Dave is a very active member of the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church where he established the men’s group which is called, “The Hot Air Coffee Club.”

Our second guest speaker for the month is making a return appearance at Faith Church . Bob Tharp of Gideons International will be the speaker on June 24th as Pastor Jeff will be on vacation. Bob shared with us last December about the work of Gideons International. The organization is known world-wide for its distribution of New Testaments in schools and hotels/motels.
